Summer Lovin...Had me a dress! We had to wait long enough for our favourite time of the year (or whats left of it...). The time of happiness, liveliness and light-heartedness mixed with a commonly accepted whiff of laziness. Breezy winds, warm shafts of sunlight and a cold drink in our hands we watch people passing by on their way to swimming, beach picnics or barbecue parties. We see bright colours everywhere, we smell the flowers and most importantly spot and assess the cutest summer dresses: Long, short, wide, tight, coloured, plain, and with the biggest choice of little details. After having clarified whether or not we like the dress, we automatically make up little stories and and build a link between the dress and its (lucky) owner. What does the dress say about her? Plus the more we like how someones dressed, the more sympathy we have for them right away. A simple explanation for mankinds (and especially woman-kinds) need for shopping.

We love summer, and we love its dresses. But what do we do when summer, after having hidden for three months, suddenly decides to show up…without any warning and with all its strength? What we need then, are last-minute dress trends to limit the fashion damage committed by not wearing the sweetest summer outfits whenever possible. Worst case scenario: You need a dress right now, no time to shop! But since of course there is practically no chance that we dont have time for shopping (ehem...), here are the latest summer trends for our favourite clothing item. Newcomer number one are dresses with feather designs. The reason for this trends steep rise might be that we are still impressed and influenced by Nathalie Portmans striking performance in the movie The Black Swan. Perfect for mild summer evenings on a terrace where a little breeze would make the mini skirts around you freeze. And last but not least a very Haute-Couture-like goodie by Oscar de la Renta, the king of timeless glamour.
