Red so(u)le design

When in doubt, wear red!

“Red is the ultimate cure for sadness”, is what American Designer Bill Blass once said. Red is the embodiment of tough, strong women who stand with both feet firmly on the ground…preferably in Louboutin shoes of course! Not to exaggerate however, Louboutin decided to design pumps in classic chic that have a touch of edginess without giving up their elegance. His super high heels (mainly 120 mm and more) marked the ultimate comeback of stilettos in the 1990s. Not only did he manage to differentiate his pumps from others, he also is a genius in building a unique brand recognition: Wherever we see (black) pumps with a red sole, we know its Louboutin! Better marketing with less effort for a “simple” pair of shoes is not possible.
Thanks to a sign in the “Musée des Arts Océaniens” in Paris, that showed a crossed stiletto heel trying to prevent women from entering the wooden flooring with sharp heels (which young Louboutin tried copying on paper over and over), women nowadays can enjoy wearing excessively high and eye-catching Louboutin-heels with red soles everywhere. Not only the shape of the heel but also the fact that someone would forbid high heels inspired the young designer who described his work as “I wanted to create something that broke rules and made women feel confident and empowered.”

Consequently, Louboutins focus is on dressy evening designs featuring fancy details like feathers, bows, jewelled straps or sequined parts and especially patent leather. An absolute classic therefore are his GRIL 120 Sandals (hier direkt zum Produkt), with a heel of 125 mm…of course! Combine this glossy multi-strap style with dark skinny jeans and a silk top to make them shine even more. Perfect style for cocktail parties and undoubtedly a must have for nice summer evenings.

Following his goal to “make women look sexy, beautiful, to make her legs look as long as they can”, Louboutin designed even higher shoes, like the Jerry 160 lace-up leather sandals with killer cork heels of 150 mm (hier direkt zum Produkt). Nothing for beginners or those who are afraid of heights. Following this seasons trend of the 70s style, we can perfectly combine them with flower-print dresses, suede-vests or bags and straw hats.

Another Louboutin classic is the VERY PRIVE 120 PEEP TOE PUMPS (Produkt z.Zt. ausverkauft), of course with signature red soles. With 120 mm heels, it is a little more harmless than the pairs before, but still not to be underestimated at all. Perfect with a knee long cocktail dress and a clutch bag for chic but also conservative events. Classy and still a sexy shoe to turn peoples heads.

Even though Louboutin is known for his killer heels, he does also offer one or the other lower-heeled design. His brown leopard print ankle boots for example, are a real walk in the park for most women, with their 45 mm blocky heels (Produkt z.Zt. ausverkauft). Still, its a shoe that will definitely catch some attention on the streets, embodying the comeback of leo prints. Wear it with jeans and your new favourite coat for autumn.

Last but not least, and since every shoe needs a proper handbag to complement the look, there are a lots of possibilities to combine Louboutins fabulous shoes with great contemporary bags, like the penny messenger lambskin bag (hier direkt zum Produkt).
